How we collect, use, store and disclose personal information, and what you can do about it. Written to be read, not to be survived.
This website is operated by JUMBOGUARD Pty Limited (ABN 26 680 420 900), trading as Builtfore ("Builtfore", "we", "us", "our"), a web, AI and software business based in Perth, Western Australia.
We are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Builtfore sells three things, and this one policy covers all of them, along with every website we run:
| Line | What it is |
|---|---|
| Built for the web | We build a business a modern website, often before they have asked for one, and host and maintain it. |
| Built for AI | We build a business a knowledge base and wire it into the ChatGPT or Claude account they already pay for. |
| Built for software | We build custom software around how a business actually runs. |
It applies to builtfore.com.au and all of its subdomains, including ai.builtfore.com.au, software.builtfore.com.au, our customer portal, and the preview websites we host for prospective clients. It also applies to the phone calls, messages and emails we send in the course of doing business.
It does not cover other people's websites we link to, or a website we have built and handed over to a client. Once a site is the client's, the client's own privacy practices apply to it.
The personal information we collect depends on how you deal with us.
We do not collect sensitive information as the Privacy Act defines it, and we ask that you do not send it to us.
Our whole model is that we build first and ask afterwards. So in many cases we will have collected information about a business, and built something with it, before that business has ever heard of us. We would rather say that plainly than bury it.
Before any contact, we may collect from publicly available sources:
We use that public information to assemble a preview website for your business and host it on an unguessable web address that is blocked from search engines. We then contact you to ask whether you would like to look at it.
Where the information we collect is about a person rather than a business, such as an owner named on a public listing, we treat it as personal information under this policy. If you would prefer we did not hold it, or did not build a preview at all, tell us and we will delete it. See section 13.
If you engage us for an AI brain or for software, you will give us access to material about how your business runs: price sheets, procedures, policies, templates, job records, and recordings of the sessions where we ask you to explain things out loud.
That material frequently contains personal information about other people, such as your staff and your customers. Three things apply to it:
You remain responsible for having the right to give us that material in the first place, and for your own obligations to the people it is about.
An AI brain necessarily involves AI providers. The system we build for you runs on a large language model provider such as OpenAI or Anthropic, under your own account with them. Material in your knowledge base is processed by that provider, under their terms and their privacy policy, and that processing generally happens outside Australia. We will tell you which providers are involved before you commit to anything.
If you do not give us the information a form asks for, we may not be able to help you, but you are always free to ring us instead.
Our websites use cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site to work. Others tell us how the site is used and whether our advertising is worth the money.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Which pages get read, how people move through the site, which campaigns bring visitors. |
| Meta Pixel | To measure whether a Facebook or Instagram advertisement led to an enquiry, and to show advertisements to people who have visited us. |
| Necessary cookies | To keep the site working and secure. |
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not stop you using our sites. You can also opt out of personalised advertising through your Google ad settings and your Meta ad preferences.
Several of the services we rely on are operated overseas, principally in the United States, and some run in data centres across Europe and the Asia Pacific. That includes our hosting, our analytics and advertising platforms, our email and SMS providers, and the AI providers described in section 5.
This means your personal information may be stored or processed outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to deal only with providers who are bound to protect it to a comparable standard, but overseas recipients are not always subject to the Privacy Act, and you may not be able to enforce it against them.
By giving us your information you consent to that disclosure on that basis. If you are not comfortable with it, tell us before you engage us and we will tell you honestly whether we can work another way.
We contact businesses about work we have done or could do for them, by phone, SMS and email. We do it under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) and the Do Not Call Register Act 2006 (Cth), and these are the rules we hold ourselves to:
Messages about work in progress, your account or your invoice are not marketing, and you will keep getting those while you are a client.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access. In practice that means encrypted connections, access limited to the people who need it, reputable infrastructure providers, and a preference for keeping data in accounts you own rather than accumulating it in ours.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever have a data breach likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
We keep personal information only while we have a reason to. Enquiries that go nowhere are deleted once they are plainly cold. Client records are kept for the life of the engagement and then for as long as tax and corporate law requires, which is generally seven years. A preview built for a business that tells us it is not interested is taken down and deleted.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner and we will, unless we are required to keep it.
You can ask us:
Email us at the address in section 16. We do not charge for this. We will verify who you are first, and respond within 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing.
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, tell us first. Email us at the address in section 16 with the detail and we will acknowledge it within five business days and give you an answer within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner: oaic.gov.au, or 1300 363 992.
We update this policy when what we do changes. The current version is always at this address, and the date it was last updated is at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle information we already hold about you, we will tell you directly rather than quietly reissue the page.
For anything in this policy, including access, correction, deletion and complaints:
